For floor, furniture, woodwork, doors, windows and all commercial or exotic wood species inside.
Tandem-1 is a natural impregnating oil that penetrates the wood without sealing it. It enhances the grain and does not form any surface film. Tandem-1 must be coated with a finish, such as Tandem-2 oil, a professional water-based or solvent-based wax or varnish. This dye is easy to apply, does not overlap and can be retouched easily before applying the finish. Its colouring developed from earth pigments and micronized natural iron oxide help penetration.
- Easy to apply;
- Does not overlap;
- Ideal for floors;
- Low odour;
- Enhances wood grain;
- Very high-penetrating power does not leave any surface film;
- Economical (about $0.21/sq. ft. on wild cherry).
The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry, free from dust, dirt, oil, soot, wax, mould, patina and chipping. Acclimate the product in the room and mix well with a stick before the application.
Sand the wood with sandpaper 100 to 120. Dust off with a vacuum cleaner or resin cloth without using a damp cloth. Keep this product at a temperature above 15 °C.
For maple or very dense wood: Wet wood with a mop or a damp cloth. When the surface is completely dry (about 2 hours), lightly sand with 220 grit sandpaper to “break” the raised wood fibre and dust.
The surface must be clean and free of wax and varnish residue. Make sure the product is at room temperature before application.
Apply with an applicator pad, a microfibre applicator, sheepskin or a mixed white silk brush for dyeing. You have to make sure that the oil penetrate well and leave nothing on the surface. After 10 to 15 minutes, using a bleached cotton cloth, wipe in the direction of the wood grain to help penetration and to eliminate the surplus.
If needed, apply a second coat after 24 hours.
Apply the finishing product after 24 hours.
Number of coats:
- Only one coat is required.
- The addition of a second coat will darken the colour by about 20%.
