RESINOPOXY+ is a two-component transparent epoxy resin. RESINOPOXY+ is specifically formulated to realize thick castings and to encapsulate objects. It offers a very beautiful transparency without a yellowish tint. With a 100% solid content, it contains no solvent and releases no VOC. RESINOPOXY+ contains an additive that protects from UV rays. It has a slight odour and can therefore be used indoors without ventilation.
- Clear epoxy system ideal for casting river tables or small encapsulations;
- 100% solid content;
- No VOC;
- No solvents;
- Very flexible and easy to work with;
- Odourless;
- Thickness up to 2 inches;
- Perfect spreading;
- Beautiful transparency with no yellowing effect.
PREPARATION:
The mould should be free of cracks and should be made with non-porous material.
If you use wood with bark, make sure it is well cleaned. You can protect the surface of the mould with an added insolation such as “TUCK TAPE”. The joints can also be blocked with a sealer.
Place the surface to be covered in the mould. A wax like the BLANCHON CARBAMEX WAX can be used to facilitate unmolding.
MIXING:
- Prepare the necessary quantity only because once the product is mixed, it does not keep. Use clean material to avoid any contamination of the product.
- It is important to calculate the mixture by volume (mL) and not by weight.
- Mix slowly and minutely to avoid creating air bubbles in the product.
- Mix individually part A and then part B at slow speed.
- Mix part A and B together, in a very clean container
- Use a drill mixer at low speed for 3 minutes (300 rpm to 450 rpm).
- Make sure the sides of the container are well scraped all the way to the bottom in order to obtain a uniform mixture.
APPLICATION:
Work in temperatures between 20° to 22 °C and a humidity rate not exceeding 65%.
Pour the resin slowly to avoid making bubbles. It will spread and level by itself (your mould needs to be levelled).
Trick: Heating the resin slightly before pouring avoids having air bubbles, you can soak your container of mixed resin in hot water.
The maximum thickness per coat is 2 inches (50.8 mm).
For a thicker coat, pour additional coats after 36 à 48 hours, when the first coat is still flexible but that the resin does not stick to your fingers.
For very porous surfaces (plaster, bark, cork, wood), apply a thin coat of RESINOPOXY+ or CRYSTALOPOXY with a paint brush to seal voids and to prevent air bubbles.
Apply the rest of the resin immediately.
The bluish effect will disappear when drying.
FINISHING:
After your equalization sanding, to obtain a very glossy finish, apply two coats of our CRYSTALOPOXY. Otherwise you can put finishing oil like DUO by LIGNA, wax or an ultraadherent two component varnish like the BLANCHON RENOVATION VARNISH.
POLISHING:
The RESINOPOXY+ can be polished. Begin polishing with a 400 grit abrasive then with an 800 grit; finish with a 1200 grit.
CLEANING OF TOOLS:
All non-hardened liquids can be cleaned with the EVO CITRUS SOLVENT or EVO DENATURED ALCOHOL following the instructions of the manufacturer.
DISPOSAL AFTER USE:
To dispose of your exceeding product, there must first have hardened. Mix exceeding liquids of parts A and B to then dispose of them according to Provincial and Federal regulations.
IMPORTANT:
FEARS FROST
CAUTION:
- The bluish effect will disappear when drying.
- Never pour more than 36 litres of RÉSINOPOXY+ at a time. To make another pour, wait until the product has dried (36 to 48 hours).
- If this product appears thick or jelly looking, it is because it was cold. Please place the container in hot water for one hour or so; it will come back to its original state. The product will not lose any property.

Formula to convert your cubic inches to mL: in3 x 16,387 = mL total Ex: To pour 200 in3 you need (200 in3 x 16,387) = 3277 mL total |

How to calculate each part of A and B: (mL total / per 3) x 2 = part A mL total / 3 = part B
Example for 3277 mL (3277 mL / 3) x 2 = 2184,66 mL of A 3277 mL / 3 = 1092,33 mL de B
