Produced from an organic cultivation in Quebec, ÉVO hemp oil is used for wood finishing. It is a pure, solvent-free product that creates a resistant and waterproof surface while enhancing the wood grain. It is easy to maintain, seals the pores of the wood to protect it and leaves no film that could eventually peel, dull or scratch. ÉVO hemp oil is safe for food contact surfaces. It can restore luster to old oil-based paint or stain, protect and give luster to surfaces such as wrought iron and natural stone. ÉVO Hemp Oil is the clearest of the natural oils. On very pale wood it leaves a greenish tint that fades after 30 days.

USE :
For finishing wood, cork, wood stained with a non-sealing stain, porous stones, porous paints such as milk paints, clay paints, chalk paints, metal and wrought iron.
PREPARATION :
For painted surfaces, clean and degrease using TSP-ÉVO.
For bare wood surfaces, sand the surface finishing with 100-120 grit.
For high density woods only, such as maple, open the wood grain after sanding 100-120. Wet and let dry. A light sanding with 220 grit to ‘break’ the wood fiber will be necessary after drying.
Prepare the surface thoroughly so that it is free of wax, varnish or other types of contaminants.
DILUTION :
To improve the penetration and drying process, it is recommended to dilute the oil with LIGNA® ISO-DILUANT or even better, with our ÉVO CITRUS SOLVENT, in a proportion of 1 part solvent to 2 parts oil. (33% solvent to 66% oil).
APPLICATION :
Apply with an applicator pad or cotton cloth.
After 30 to 60 minutes, remove any excess oil by rubbing the surface with a bleached cotton cloth.
NUMBER OF LAYERS:
3 to 6 layers depending on the use of the surface.
DRYING TIME :
BETWEEN COATINGS : 24 to 48 hours.
CAUTIONARY USE : After 24 hours.
FULL DRYING TIME : Between 15 to 21 days.
COLORATION :
The first layer of hemp oil can be colored with our ground pigments.
To promote penetration, the addition of solvents is recommended. The following layers should not be tinted.

MAINTENANCE :

If the finish becomes dull, refresh by applying a thin layer of oil. Wait 21 days before the first cleaning.

Furniture : 2 to 5 years.
Wall, beam and ceiling : 3 to 6 years.
Cutting board and utensils : 2 to 24 months.
STORAGE :
Leave the product in an airtight container. Store in a dry, temperate area.
