Loft Polished Concrete is a multi-support coating designed for trendy urban or contemporary atmospheres. It gives an appearance of polished concrete and can be applied to smooth surfaces such as gypsum, ceramic and concrete. With a hanging primer and suitable protection it can be applied to walls, bathrooms, showers, work surfaces such as kitchen counters, laminate cabinets and a multitude of other surfaces.
Loft Polished Concrete is perfectly suited for the realization of a walk-in shower. Caution – It must be used on the walls only and not to the showers floor.
You can use Loft Polished Concrete to concrete floors, but not to plywood floors, as it does not tolerate any bending and could crack.
Loft Polished Concrete has obtained the ecological accreditation of the European Union which makes it a healthy product for you and your environment.
*** NOTE: This product gives a smoothed concrete finish. For a textured effect use NaturaChaux or Loft Concrete Wall Coating ***
Loft Polished Concrete can be used on all smooth, clean and dry surfaces (especially on gypsum board strips). If your surface has reliefs like those of ceramic tiles, you will have to fill them before the application. Use the Loft Primer – Smoothing Tile.
Always use the appropriate primer on the type of surface you are applying the product to.
- On gypsum walls already painted, or freshly plastered use the Loft Primer for wall coating.
- On ceramic wall, concrete board, or other smooth surfaces, use the Loft Primer – worktop and tile.
- On concrete floor, apply a layer of Loft Primer – Floor. CAUTION – Do not apply to floors in showers.
- On a work surface, laminate, particle, apply a layer of Loft Primer – worktop and tile. CAUTION – Do not use on wallpapers.
Mix well before the application. Apply a very thin coat (less than 2 mm) and a Loft Polished Concrete using a stainless steel trowel (you could see the primer in some places).
Important: Any extra thickness may cause cracks to appear.
Allow to dry ± 4 h before applying a very thin second layer, crossing your movements and tightening with the edge of the trowel to obtain a very smooth surface.
Allow to dry ± 8 h and polish with a very fine steel wool (000).
On low stress walls the protector is optional. If you want to make the surface easily washable, apply the Loft Protector – Colourless Wall Coating.
For floors and bathrooms, especially the shower walls, you should use the Protector Loft – Floor, Shower, Worktop.
Protectors take 10 days before reaching full drying. Before this time, use the surface with caution, do not take a shower and do not let water stagnate on the countertops.
3 L bucket covers approximately 155 sq. Ft. / Per coat.
