EVOPOLY is a two-component polyaspartic coating, perfectly suited for all interior and exterior concrete finishing projects, including the area around pools, concrete patios, concrete slabs, residential, institutional, industrial and commercial concrete flooring. EVOPOLY is more resistant to abrasion and chemical aggression than conventional epoxies. It offers a non-yellowing smooth, glossy finish. EVOPOLY can be used both as a base coat and as a finish. Polyaspartic coatings have a very quick-drying time, which allows you to do the whole job in one day. EVOPOLY can be applied in cold temperatures, down to minus 10 degrees Celsius.
- Two-component polyaspartic system
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Superior mechanical and chemical resistance properties
- Slow setting (25 minutes) for easy application
- Can be used indoor and outdoor
Concrete must be clean, dry and free of grease, oil, paint, ripening agent or any contaminant that could interfere with adhesion. A cure time of at least 28 days is required before applying EVOPOLY on new concrete. Resurfacing with a concrete power buffer remains the best preparation. However, sanding the surface can be sufficient for most residential projects. Sand the surface with a 60 grit sandpaper sanding machine to remove all coats of paint. The surface should be sanded with a 60 grain abrasive and properly cleaned with a vacuum if the product is to be applied to an epoxy system that has been on for more than 24 hours. This preparation is necessary to ensure proper adhesion. Do the appropriate adhesion tests if you are not sure of the preparation needed for the surface.
It is recommended to properly mix each component of the product (parts A and B) separately at low speed before mixing them together. Special attention should be given to coloured versions of the product since pigments may have separated from the rest of the formulation during storage. Continue mixing until a uniform colour is obtained. Mix Part A and Part B in a clean container with a low-speed drill with a mixer (300 450 t/min). Make sure to use clean equipment to make sure not to contaminate the product. Mix slowly and thoroughly for 3 to 5 minutes so as not to create bubbles in the product and scrape the sides all the way to the bottom of the mixing container. For small projects, be sure to mix only the amount of product required. Once the product is mixed, you have 25 minutes of work time.
Make sure that the air and ground temperature is between -10 and 30 degrees Celsius and the humidity does not exceed 85% before applying EVOPOLY. Pour the product directly onto the floor doing parallel lines. Spread the product with a squeegee then roll with an epoxy roller in both directions, parallel and perpendicular, to make the surface uniform. You can spread the product using only a good quality 13 mm microfiber epoxy roller. EVOPOLY can be applied both as a base coat (directly on concrete) and as a finish. We recommend applying a base coat of approximately 8 mils (thousandth of an inch) thick followed by a finish coat of approximately 6 mils on solid colour. If the finish coat is to cover flakes, apply to a thickness of 10 to 15 mils; a finish coat of approximately 4 mils may be needed to ensure complete coating of flakes.
Hardened material can be disposed of without restriction. Excess liquid of Parts A and B must be mixed to allow for hardening and then disposed of in accordance with existing provincial and federal regulations. Any liquid may be cleaned with a denatured solvent or alcohol as directed by the fabricator.
