Mother Nature is not always lenient when it comes to our changing temperatures. When it’s finally time to take a stroll outside, we want to enjoy our yard and especially our BBQ’s which are usually installed on our wooden decks. Wood is a living material, and we need a product as resistant as it is flexible to adapt the variations due to support and temperatures.
In addition to being effective in protecting both vertical and horizontal surfaces, HYBRI-DECK has an additional UV protector to maintain the natural colour of the wood.

Before starting your project, you must evaluate your surface. If it is greyed out, clean it with the EVO DEGRIO by LIGNA.
Wait 24 hours of good weather for the wood to dry completely.
To apply an impregnating product to a wood surface, it must be sanded, regardless of whether it is planed lumber leaving the store or covered with an old finish.
For sanding a softwood, we recommend using an 80-grit sandpaper and for hardwood, a 60-grit sandpaper. You can sand by hand or with an electric sander, following the grain of the wood. Make sure to remove all traces of old finish if this is the case.
Once sanding is completed, remove dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.
For non-planed raw wood, there is no need for sanding.
The ambient temperature, as well as that of your surface, must be higher than 15°C, otherwise, the product may not penetrate as well. At all times, the product must be kept above 10°C. If your container was at a lower temperature for a long time, we recommend that you test it on another surface before starting your project. If in doubt, dispose of your expired product at an Eco-Center near you.
First, you must mix the product well using a stick, even if you have chosen the natural colour. The wood on your surface should be dry, but should not be hot. It is best to work in the morning, evening or on a cloudy day.
The product is applied by a roller or brush and does not need to be wiped. Being a product that dries quickly, there is a risk of overlap. We advise you to work plank by plank to obtain a uniform finish without different shades of colour.
Only TWO COATS are required for optimum UV and water-repellent protection. The second coat should be applied after only 20 minutes. Do not exceed 30 minutes, otherwise, you will have to sand with a 120-grit sandpaper so that the second coat adheres to the first one.
You can circulate carefully and replace your furniture on the surface after only 12 hours, but wait 3 days before regular use.
Being a hybrid oil without petroleum solvent, HYBRI-DECK is cleaned with water as easily as all water-based products.
Please do not throw your leftover product in the sewer. You will rather let your leftover dry out and throw it in a garbage and bring your container at an Eco-Center near you.
A periodic cleaning with soap for exterior oiled wood is enough.
To maintain water and UV-resistant protection, a thin coat of oil will be needed after only 3 to 6 years for a vertical surface and after 1 to 3 years for a horizontal surface. The natural version, used alone, will require more attention. To renew the UV protection, a new application is necessary between 6 months and 1 year.
When refreshing, there is no need to strip or scrape. Simply clean the surface well and sand lightly with a 120-grit sandpaper before applying. If you do not wish to darken the colour too much, you can add a 50% to 80% volume of HYBRI-DECK Natural to your colour.
You will have a matte finish that does not mask your wood. Invite your neighbours over for a coffee out on your patio, they will be jealous.
